Currently: Bursts of gunfire were reported as Tehranis took to their rooftops to shout protests under cover of darkness, but for the first time in a week there were no big demonstrations. That was partly because Tehran’s streets were flooded with police and Basiji militiamen, and partly because the protesters were still reeling from the previous day’s brutality.  Read the rest of this story…

Hundreds of thousands of Iranian protesters defied authorities Monday and marched to Tehran’s Freedom Square, as the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader ordered an investigation into allegations of voter fraud, a move the opposition described as little more than an attempt to dampen anger over the reelection of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  Read the rest of the story…

Bio: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (born October 28, 1956) is the sixth and current President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He became president on August 6, 2005 after winning the 2005 presidential election by popular vote. Before becoming president, he was the mayor of Tehran. He is the highest directly elected official in the country; however, according to Article 113 of Constitution of Iran, he has less total power than the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Iran and has the final word in all aspects of foreign and domestic policies. 2. Having sensationalist ideas just to get attention! That’s what describes this idiot! We need to be careful. With his political views on Jews and Gays he may turn out to be the biggest threat this country has seen yet!

  4. What he says about gays and lesbians is disgusting. You are born that way! His country is so full of hatred because of his dictatorship that the people can’t even be free and come out and be who they are. M.A is a terrible human being and his country should be ashamed to have him representing them!

  6. While our economy is suffering this terrible man is rolling in money. Our need for oil causes him to become more powerful and further keep his people down. His people accept him because we know no better. We need to find new ways to power up and stop giving these fascist leaders power.

  10. We all know he did not win this election fair and sqaure but REALLY was there any doubt that he would behave this way? This is the man who said the holocaust was not real.. of course he is going to do whatever the heck he wants to. I am not sure why this is a surprise. Maybe that people had hope? I am tired of seeing the blood shed and it makes me sad. I understand that the people are fighting for chaneg but withouth te hassitance of military force a coup will not occur.

  14. He would make more sense if he were a comedian:

    1. No gays in Iran

    2. Holocaust was a hoax

    3. He won the election legally

    4. Iran will have nukes (like the Israelis will ever let that happen)

He is a funny man. If you cannot remember how to pronounce his last name, think “I’m a dinner jacket.”
